Day 8 of the Camping and Coasters 2004 tour.
Not really an ‘enthusiast’ park as such as the name suggests. Concentration goes more into the shows and entertainment than the rides, which for a park like this, there are more than enough of. My favourite show was the Hollywood Stunt Show, which puts the pathetic Spiderman Show at Thorpe Park to shame. The Movie Magic show gave a behind the scenes insight into how special effects are used to enhance a movie. Plenty of audience participation took place. This included Jason who got much wetter than he bargained. His set piece involved him standing on the deck of a fishing boat and having gallons, and I mean hundreds of gallons of water thrown over him! Very funny to watch. On the ride side of things:
Wild Wild West was the parks wooden coaster. Themed around, you guessed it, the movie Wild Wild West! Nothing special in my opinion. The ride had more laterals than airtime. I also lost my cap (I know. More fool me!).
Eraser was the Vekoma SLC which was pleasant enough as far as these types of coaster go.
Lethal Weapon Pursuit was the Intamin racing coaster. Although the ‘persuit’ element of the coaster fell flat due to only one of the tracks being open. The ride features two inversions. An enclosed loop and a barrel roll. I loved this ride. It dint seem to go down very well with some people though!
The Wild Bunch was a tilting floorless Gyro Drop. Intense and fun. Not very high though.
Neverending Story was a highly themed mostly indoor rapids ride. Fand of the film will recognise all their favourite characters. Including the flying oversized dog type thing.
Tom and Jerry’s Mouse in the House was an average Wild Mouse ride. Similar to Rattlesnake.
Coyote and Roadrunner’s Achterbahn was a figure of 8 kiddie coaster. No was as good as the Flying Fish though!!!
Bermuda Triangle was a highly themed, very wet spill water type ride featuring two drops.
This is only a selection of the things on offer at the park. One thing I wont recommend is the Batman Adventure ride. Its pants!
